WKF Approved Karate Gi

WKF approved karate gi are now required for many competitions, especially major national and international tournaments. The World Karate Federation is the main governing body for Karate, with the ultimate goal of getting Karate to the Olympics. The system of approval for Karate gi ensures uniformity amongst competitors, and ensures only those brands who hold WKF approval can be used at such tournaments.

Two main styles are available, WKF approve kata uniforms and WKF approved kumite karate gi. In most cases you can, if you wish, buy one karate gi to cover both the kata and kumite, but many top level karateka generally have both styles, and we would recommend this to anyone looking to compete in both these areas.
