Kickboxing

Kickboxing began life in the USA, and was developed to bring a mix of traditional Boxing and Martial Arts together under a 'new style'. Many big name Kickboxers have also trained in traditional martial arts such as Taekwondo and Karate.

Kickboxing is a contact sport, with some practising full contact styles (i.e. K1) and semi contact 'points' based styles. Whichever style practised, you will need good quality protection!!

Kickboxing uniforms are vast and varied, and are often 'bespoke', depending on the club you use. To start with, the basic requirements will be for a good pair of Kickboxing Trousers plus T shirt, or a Kickboxing Uniform. Because training is often impact based, many students prefer to use their own equipment, and, as a good starting base, we would recommend investing in a good pair of all round Boxing Gloves, a pair of Focus Pads and a Kick Shield.

For sparring, be it practise or competitive, you will need a good set of sparring gear, such as a Head Guard, Shin Protection, Foot protectors as well as Gumshield and Groin Protection. Dipped Foam is often a popular choice, but we can also supply a range of Leather based products for those who prefer it.
