Andy Roberts
Andy has trained in the Martial arts since the age of 8. Starting with Judo as a child and then moving on to Japanese Jiu Jitsu where he achieved his 2nd Dan Black Belt and taught professionally for over 5 years. Andy fell in love with Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in 1998. He is currently a Brown Belt under Roger Gracie and has trained with many famous names in the sport including Helio Gracie, Carlos gracie JNR, Mauricio Gomes, Roger Gracie, Royce Gracie, Felipe Souza, Marcio Feitosa, Vitor 'Shaolin' Ribeiro, Braulio Estima, Jude Samuel, Saulo Ribeiro, Rigan Machado.. Andy has competed in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Submission Wrestling since 2001 and has a current record of 77-16-01. With his most recent successes being 2nd at the ADCC Spanish Open and 2nd at Gracie Invitational BJJ 2007 and 1st at the Bristol Open. Andy has taught conflict resolution for the NHS and is now focused on teaching Jiu Jitsu and its benefits. He is also a Judge for the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Andy has been instrumental in the development of our BJJ Gi, acting as one of our chief testers to help with the design of one of the first British BJJ Gi to enter the market! Along with Christina Fraquelli, we have secured two of the best known names in British BJJ, and wish them both the very best of success. |
