 Black Eagle are proud to sponsor Matt and Nikki-Jayne Stockham of Brecon Shotokan Karate Club.
Black Eagle have recently signed two very prominent Karateka, Matt Stockham, aged 28, and Nikki-Jayne Stockham, aged 15.
Both Matt and Nikki-Jayne are members of Brecon Shotokan Karate Club, run by Sensei Derek Stockham, their Father. Derek has been involved in Shotokan for over 30 years, and contributes a high proportion of Welsh National Karate Squad members, such is the quality of his training.
Matt has enjoyed much success at National level. And whilst Nikki-Jayne is just starting out on the Ladies Senior Tournament Circuit, she has achieved great success in the Junior age categories, dominating all tournaments she has entered for the previous 5 years.
Black Eagle are proud to sponsor Matt and Nikki, through the provision of Karate Gi and training equipment, to hopefully help them compete at the highest level and achieve even greater goals.
We would also like to thank Derek Stockham for the hospitality shown to us when we visited their club to formalise this sponsorship, and to Mark Scott for organising the whole evening.
In June 2009 Nikki becameWelsh Grand Champion winning both senior kata and kumite , and in November 2009 she won the bronze medal in the junior kumite at the Shotokan World Championships in Cancun Mexico. This year at the Welsh championships she retained her senior kumite title and came runner up in the kata. Nikki has just been informed that she has been selected to represent Wales at this years european championships in Koblenz, Germany, so we wish her good luck in that!
